Bellringing at Goodleigh is a pleasure. The bells are reckoned by many to be the best in the area. In times past, the local ‘band’ all lived in the village. Not so today. Ringers are becoming so few in number that many towers survive because ringers are prepared to travel from tower to tower to keep the art alive. Goodleigh is no exception.

We can never have too many ringers. It would be fantastic if we could introduce a few new faces to the very satisfying skill of Church bellringing. If you fancy giving it a try, why not give the Tower Captains a call. Supervised tuition and practice can be provided to all age groups, male or female. No special skills are needed, just the ability to count and listen at the same time! Bellringing is a skill learnt and perfected in stages over many months with plenty of encouragement along the way. It can be a tremendous thrill for a learner to have mastered the art to a sufficient standard to be asked to ring for Sunday Service and Weddings.

The team practice at Goodleigh United Church on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm until 9.00pm. All visitors, whether just curious or determined to learn, will be made equally welcome.
